News Classes Trainers About Agility Links Agility Trials Reaching Us
Matt got started in agility at age 17 when his parents got the “World’s Worst Lab Puppy”, Bailey.  Her out of control behavior needed an outlet, and agility was just perfect.  After several classes he was totally hooked, and is still involved in the sport, nearly 10 years later.  Bailey has gone on to become both a model citizen and excellent agility partner. She has surpassed all expectations, going on to compete successfully at the USDAA Nationals in 2009. Her transformation inspired much of Matt’s current training philosophy. Through her training Matt learned his most important lesson – Training has to be fun in order to be successful!

Matt has continued his agility education by training several breeds of dogs. He is a firm believer that any dog, despite breed, can enjoy agility.   He currently competes with Bailey, a Labrador Retriever, Roadie and Speed Racer, both Border Collies, and Lulu, a Pekingese!  Little Lulu is the first and only Pekingese to earn a USDAA Agility Dog title and is currently competing at the Master Level in most events.  Roadie is an incredibly fast, athletic and sometimes WILD Border Collie who has taught Matt the most when it come to competitive handling. Matt has recently acquired a German Shepherd Dog, Ryker a.k.a. T-REX!, and is training him in multiple sports as well.

Using his experience running vastly different types of dogs, Matt has the ability to custom tailor his training method to each of his students. He also regularly attends seminars and lessons with some of the top trainers in the country. Matt also enjoys training and competing He regularly competes and trains in herding and flyball as well.

Matt is also a Judge for USDAA and travels the country judging events.
